Dear Bob,
I like your Rule #6 which states "One Day At A Time". When I wrote this idea my way, I said it this way,"Every day is a new beginning."
Now for the reason and the REALreason.
The cable company Comcast shut me off for non-payment[$662]. They made a verbal agreement with me that they broke. I have asked them to give me the name, address, and phone number of their Agent of Process. I believe taking a summer break, coupled with a healthy dose of homework, could actually be more healthy for me 'US' than just continuing unabated. You have shown time and time again that you are a team player and I really appreciate you loyalty. The time will give me more, not less. Thank you again, and remember,"Every Day Is A New Beginning"...
Hi Bob,
I got four never-before-seen blogs of yours today, dating back to August 13th, 2008. I'm going through them now. Recently, I have been the object of 'tough love', a not-so-welcome reminder that although I may feel differently about it, most people feel I'm worth it. As for seeing Danica get a well deserved Champagne shower, I don't believe I have ever seen her without the word 'cute' firmly attached...

Bob,
I have been a customer of your for 6 months already and I talk Go Daddy up all the time. I'm a web designer, and up til I joined here I had trouble finding deals on good domain and DNS management as well as hosting.
There are a couple of groups out there who bash Go Daddy with claims of trouble. To that I say they are full of it. I have had plenty of issues and questions, and everytime I call in I have ended the call satisfied and happy with the outcome. Indeed this is the best 7 dollars a month I have ever spent.

I have a lot of respect for your ability to build your business, but your comment "in the unlikely event I get a date" was hopefully untruthful, otherwise it is something I wouldn't advertise. Your overall regard for women seems to be the traditional superficial version, facilitated by your success. I tried to find it humorous, but it was too convincingly not. Great Video of Danica. I am big Indy fan, worked as yellow shirt in the 70's-80's... I got a chance again this year to go to race... it was awesome...
I listen to Danica's frequency the whole race, what a potty mouth... I loved it ! She got the raw end of the deal, but, asked Andretti's about bad luck !
Enjoyed your 16 points, thanks

Dear Robin,
Tying the deaths of our troops anywhere to automobile racing is quite a stretch. Keep in mind that it's the developments that come out of programs like racing (where there is lots of investment to learn how to get the most out of engines) that result in new technologies that in time will make engines more efficient and hopefully get us past this crisis.

Muture content! I have seen more mature content on Disney movies. Do not use that as an excuse to watch your promos! You want to say mature contecnt, then put some mature content in the video. This was a lie and now I will never believe anything you say! I can assure you that I am not the only one thinking this! Best of luck!
Lighten up will ya. If you read down the comments you'll see a number of people who think the blog content is too "mature." I'll also say that the warning said ... "Mature Content" not "Adult Content."
Realize that just because you might be used to and expecting the heavy stuff not everyone feels the way you do. What you were expecting would blow the wigs off a lot of folks.
Hello Bob, to you and yours (mentioning your first name is lighter than addressing you as Mr. Parsons). I enjoyed your comments. Freedom of speech and the right to articulate is very healthy. Restrictive measures from the Executive and the Judicial Branch has breached civil liberties and civil justice. Their freedom and liberties abuse had enacted prohibitive measures against the people of the U.S. and has hopefully terminated the cycle of hatred and doctrine of hypocrisy. I haven't met with you in many years. You've expanded your use, awareness, and sense of humor to a large degree. I think we had met and made friends when Elvis made the hit 'Don't Be Cruel' (to a Heart That is True). Perhaps you did not see Candace Michelle and the hot blonde's menage a twoi on MySpace. It would be subject to rating's debate too, and increase the Prop 8 fiasco rhetoric. Speaking of lightening up, I could mention a few instances of webhosting unfairness and abuse, fraud, and outright theft, but that would ruin the vibe. Peace. Bob,
I am a loyal customer (pro reseller) and I have found my experiences with your company to be nothing but top flight. From Sales to Support, you and your team have provided nothing but the best in service and satisfaction.
I have followed your inspirational story from the early days of Parsons Technology to the Mega company that Go Daddy has become today. You are truly a "breath of fresh air", a welcome difference from all the stuffy corporate IT types I have dealt with over the last 20 years.
Glad I run my own show now and I take your RULES to heart. They have helped in the lean times trust me. I am proud to register my domains, host all my sites and my client domains and sites with Go Daddy. I admire the way you run your company also.
I love the new blog, but am a little surprised at the production value of some of the segments. I have an awesome Audio system and 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound and BOSE Speakers on my PC Workstation in my office and it seems that the audio is "less than acceptable" for this type of format. I asked a few industry friends to check it out to verify my observations. I have noticed some editing issues also. I don't know if you are doing this "in-house" or have outside help, my only concern is that it may give the wrong impression of you and how you run your company to someone who doesn't know you or your standards of excellence.
I know for most people, my comments might seem harsh , trivial or nit picky, but as great as you do everything else in your company, you gotta ask yourself.. "Is this really how I want the world to see me and my company?"
Not to worry, the technical stuff is always "fixable". I would be more than happy to offer some suggestions or exchange ideas with you, to help make this new show the best it deserves to be...
I am not trying to be a "smartass know it all" or looking for a job, just looking out for things I care about and return some of the great advice and service you have provided me over the last few years...
I understand the production quality could be better. But this isn't a hollywood production, it's just my personal video blog. Myself and another guy put it together. Nima Jones helps out with the writing. This probably won't change anytime soon.
Looks like you got yourself and your company a great deal with the sponsorship of the Indy 500. I was wondering if GoDaddy is listed on the stock exchange, and if so, what is the symbol?
Any PR for Danica is great.... I also am a GoDaddy customer. Danica grew up not too far from here and i have breakfast with her grand father almost daily...

Hey BOB with all that money your making off of your advertising why dont you offer a TOLL FREE TECH SUPPORT NUMBER. I am a GD reseller and I hate to call your support number because of that reason. Give it up BOB, Network Solutions may be higher but consumers DEMAND a good overall customer service experience. Maye you should drop one of your girls off the rouster to make up the difference.
I've never had an 800 support number. We do provide completely free support. Most customers have unlimited minutes on their calling plans, so more often than not it's no cost to them. Besides calling costs are really not significant.
I'll stack our support effort up against NetSol or any other company for that matter and believe we'll come out ahead.
Perhaps you could answer this. Why is it that NetSol has won the JD Power & Associates Certified Customer Service Call Center award three years in a row and GD has never been considered. I would really appreciate an answer to this question.
Thanks, and best wishes. Mike on Jun 6 2008, 08:16pm Reply
Dear Mike,
NetSol actually pays JD Power to come in, study their service then rate it. We looked at doing the same a while ago but felt it was a bit of a sham so we passed on it.
As you can imagine, once paid by NetSol and looking forward to being paid again the next year, one might think that JD Power might be predisposed to issue a strong endorsement for the service they are being paid to rate.
I think NetSol paying JD Power to rate their service, is a bit of a stretch, but understandable given that they are trying to justify their incredibly high prices. At the end of the day, I feel confident that Go Daddy provides its customers with better service (and of course far better prices).
Just wanted to tell you that every damn time I call your company for tech support I get the kindest people with a sense of humor that seem to really love their jobs. They are knowledgeable and never in a hurry and they always make me feel like I am their number one priority. I do not know how you get this through to your people but I am a picky guy about customer service and you guys along with Fedex are two of the best service oriented companies I know of... Nice job.

Dear Bob,
I am a happy customer of GoDaddy and I thank you for your recent comments.
As a 52 year-old electronics buff I have been involved in retail sales and service since about the age of twenty. After listening to your opinion stating that you must make your business "new and different" each and every day or it "dies", I would like to point out that some businesses reach a point of diminishing returns that way. There is a risk of letting your 'bread and butter' clients to slip between the cracks.
I would like to see GoDaddy add and promote more services that people like myself who are not thinking about 'change' as much as they are thinking about getting their message out.
As a Catholic I'm sure you're aware that the Holy Spirit is also known as 'The Helper'. The bible was not dictated at the time of Christ but was written with the 'Help" of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible stands to this day as a very interesting reference that I make a point to read every day.
I invite you to look at my GoDaddy website at:
www.advelinc.com. The day after I wrote it there was an 8.0 magnitude earthquake in China which ended up killing and/or injuring close to 100,000 people. There probably is no direct connection to the STEP I spoke about.
I have subscribed to your new blogs and/or newsletters and I just want to say that I like you very much...
Please say hello to Danica if you have a chance...
Love it - do everyone a favor - keep GoDaddy a private company - if you every again reconsider an IPO - just forget the idea - overhead costs of a public company are enormous & will deplete profitability - un-necessarily - but also you will likely suffer the censorship requirements of the new public owners/investors (see what Carl Ichann is doing?) The freedom and imaginative creations of GoDaddy are what has made it what it is today - keep it going - as YOUR COMPANY!!
Keep up the great efforts in providing excellent services at an excellent price! I am here to stay as long as you are.....

You are doing a great job making your customers and blog viewers feel very comfortable. I love the down to earth realism of the what we say and what we mean blog. My company also has your 16 rules posted in each office as well as the Dale Carnegie Golden rules, I lean more towards the 16 Go Daddy rules. Anyway, great job and keep it up.
After watching you video blog, my perception is that you are a very likeable, charismatic business man with a great sense of humor. I can imagine working with you would be fun, challenging, and rewarding.
Your image is pure gold in today's business world which is many times overly-complicated, too-serious, and unecessarily steeped in meaningless taboo.
Please consider removing some elements from your website that contradict your true, lovable image. For example: "mature content" warnings and the non-smiling, "tuff guy" photos of yourself. More images of yourself will add even more character to your website and that, in my humble opinion, is a good thing!

You are a successful nerd, but bordering on being a pervert. That's why you have to say, "in the unlikely event I ever get a date." You'll only get a date if you pay for it, or if you start acting like girls don't mean anything to you, especially the good looking ones. Then, you will surprisingly see them flock to you!
Please advise where I can read your 16 rules? I'd like to see if there is one of your own rules you can apply to resolve your issue with women. Greg Sullivan (http://www.sullipix.com) on May 29 2008, 02:19pm Reply
Dear Greg,
Pay for a date? Once again ... that was Spitzer, not me.
If based on the light content of the blog, you feel it comes even close to perversion, I suggest you find someone you can spend time talking to. At the very least, you need to get out more.
The blog is kind of lame, and definitely unprofessional, though it is a valiant effort. And, who the hell cares about race car driving and playboy cover girls except rednecks, white trash, and drunken dumbasses (usually mutually inclusive). Not typically the most technically adept sect of society, but if that's who you are trying to court, then great job. Gecko on May 29 2008, 01:29pm Reply

I really like your 16 rules; they apply well to business and life in general. I guess I don't like that this blog (and some others) have to be marked with "mature content" and that that's splashed on the front page - where kids go to this site. When I first started using this site, it wasn't just some "guy" site where they could go to see women in various states of champagne showers, although it seems to have turned into that. It is, however, a place where we, for one, host our church website. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a prude, but I am raising a daughter and it is painfully obvious that the more we let just "one more thing" slide by us, the worse the whole world gets. Common decency is a mystery; respect is spelled in multiples of 4-letter words; and integrity tends to go the way of ignorance.
This may not make a difference - at all in the general scheme of things, or to you personally - but I am uncomfortable enough with the vibe the site has taken in recent months to suggest to our group that we host elsewhere. I just think it's our duty to do what's right, not sink to the level of "everybody else".
I think what you have done business-wise is awesome, and I would hope this isn't going to be just a raunchy guy site in order to make money instead of something that really impacts in a positive manner, it's better to know now.
Thanks, Bob. Becky on May 29 2008, 10:10am Reply
Becky; Are you reading back what you have posted? A " guy site "? Do you know that because Go daddy has had the decency to sponsor women who are involved in auto and motorcycle racing for example, that people all over the world are starting to recognize then for their acheivements, not because they are women but because they are equal in the sport? Women are still being oppressed by society so much that it's like they think women should all be home making cookies and having babies instead of racing, climbing mountains or running for the office of President? And as for the scantily clad women in the ads, there is no nudity or sexual misconduct or anything more than what you would see on a Baywatch re-run. Becky, I know you are probably a real good person but really look deep into your heart about this. To take your church out of this web hosting company because there are women in T-shirts and shorts on an Office portal mind you- not on your or my home page, but a place where you'd have to intend to be traveling to see. This comes down to
the issue of parental controls if you feel your child is being threatened or harmed by coming to the business part of Go daddy's site. But to speak on behalf of every member of a church because it is your own personal feeling that morals and appropriate advertising ethics have been breached, wow!
As a father who has raised three girls to be grown women and who has two grand-daughters right now, there is nothing on display at Go daddy that I would be embarrassed
for them to know I am affiliated as a web hosting customer. Bruce J Maier (http://www.damngoodtunes.com) on May 30 2008, 02:43am Reply
Bruce,
I appreciate your thoughts but this is an area where I feel very strongly. If there's something offensive I don't want my daughter seeing or using, then I'll stop her from seeing or using it.
The point I was making was this: if there is a good product in and of itself, there is no reason to add a sleazy aspect to it. I've used GoDaddy for years off and on for personal sites and the price is very affordable. But if it's a good company on its own merit, there doesn't need to be sleazy stuff thrown in, and because of that sleazy stuff, I personally don't use it anymore. Recognizing women for their achievements is great. So why talk about wanting to take a champagne shower with them? How does that "respect" their abilities? It doesn't. It focuses on their body parts.
If you associate with people/businesses who don't have the morals you uphold, you are guilty by association. It's everybody's choice. I'm just saying it would be my/our choice not to host here anymore because of some of those questionable elements. Becky on Jun 2 2008, 12:56pm Reply
I have to agree with Becky. I transferred domains to Godaddy for the price and trust. If you are going to splash pornographic symbols across your site, you are going to lose trust and business. I can no longer recommend you to my friends as I am embarrassed by the photos. Mark on May 29 2008, 02:50pm Reply
I have to tell you Bob, not that I agree, but I do get some crap from my business partners about using your service due to GoDaddy's racy image.
I have to laugh at it because I tend to side more with you on this, "What pornographic symbols?"... So Godaddy may push the line a little, that's what makes you different... it's your purple cow. (great book on marketing by the way).
So I feel that their complaints and points are justified... a bit. But all things considered, your company is the best in its industry and I have found no equals. So even if... and is said "IF"... even if your pulling a little sex into your advertising then that is only one strike against all the home runs you've hit. And I can't leave such a great service otherwise.
The morale... Provide a killer service and you can get away with murder.
And hey, that's my own original line, so make sure I get credit for it when you quote me....
Joe,
Just to clarify my original position..."pushing the line" and "pulling a little sex into advertising" are just other ways of saying justifying something that's wrong.
Yes, it's a great service, but allowing someone to "get away with murder" just tries to justify away the wrong stuff.
If you're getting negative feedback from your business partners, maybe you should consider your choices. Obviously they recognize the inappropriateness of some of the things on the site.
Again, Bob, the service is great and the tools for site maintenance are great, too. But, why even throw in the inappropriate stuff? It just dirties up a good thing. And then it's just like all the other ones out there who "throw in a little sex stuff". Sleazy. Becky on Jun 2 2008, 01:00pm Reply
Becky,
For someone that is so eager to leave you seem to spend an inordinately long time in the blog. You made your point several times and there's no point in your continuing to denigrate yourself in such a "raunchy", "sleazy", "inappropriate", & "dirty" site. By continuing to participate in this discussion "you are guilty by association" (your own comments, not mine). Please don't go away angry... just go away.
While you are gone check out www.beckys-dungeon.com and find out what raunchy, sleazy, inappropriate, & dirty really mean.
Bob, Keep up the good work! Brett on Jun 14 2008, 01:43am Reply
If all things were equal and I had to choose between a company that advertised with sex and a company that didn't then I would choose the one that didn't. So yes, if there were a company equal to GoDaddy without the "PlayBoy" bunny then they would get my business. But I am sure that there are many that would take the opposite side on this.
However,... on the lighter side, its not bad enough to make me get up and leave... which appears to be your same situation. PestProJoe (http://www.PestProJoe.com) on Jun 3 2008, 11:15am Reply

Danica seems (a) a breath of fresh air and (b) a firebrand. Of course I would have been hot too if someone - from the Penske team no less- came out of the pits and smacked me. It's a shame that her car just didn't have the performance she was expecting.
Finally the IndyCar/CART fiasco has been settled and maybe Indy will again become the "Greatest Spectacle In Racing"
As one who used to watch Indy every year I watched it for the first time last weekend (after a 15 year hiatus) - what impressed me was how important the pit crew is when Honda supplies the engines to everyone and one of 2 companies supplies the chassis.
The rest - what makes the winners and also rans - is vehicle prep and money for maintenance. And, of course, the drivers. Danica is certainly in the top field of contention. Bill Brandt on May 28 2008, 04:16pm Reply

Bob is a living testament to the axiom, "Never take yourself too seriously, but always take what you DO very seriously", and this latest video blog is solid proof of that.
Too many of today's CEO's have been churned out of cookie-cutter MBA mills, where they've all picked up the same tight-ass "Hey, I'm too important" mindset (and, boy, do THEY ever take themselves too seriously); meanwhile, their nondescript companies have to fight for an identity in a crowded marketplace, because their "leaders" are all afraid (or unable) to show any real personality or human honesty behind their corporate facade.
Need further validation that having a real leader with a self-deprecating sense of humor as a spokesperson can make a real difference in the marketplace? Well, just look at what's happened to Wendy's restaurants since Dave Thomas passed away: their food is still just as good, but their sales (and company) are now circling the bowl...

Bob Parsons is a man whom I've learned to take seriously, even though his innate wisdoms are somewhat cloaked by a sinister smile and a naughty little boy always up to something! My web magazine has developed here at Go Daddy largely in part because I've had the right tools and support from the get go. Bob Parsons' tips and his 16 core beliefs which make up his philosophy hit home with me, especially rule#7, "keep moving forward". I have shaken hands with Anthony Robbins as he delivered a similar message. With a belief system in place as the one with which Mr. Parsons runs his company, you can only win, only go up. I thank you for the inspiration and only hope that my little magazine hosted here at Go Daddy, and my like philosophies will achieve similar praise someday. Thanks for a great video blog and ending it with such great advice. A little over two months ago my site had only 8 visitors a day and that's when I decided to change things. Since then I have dedicated to daily making improvements and additions, and the result is that in the last two months my traffic has increased %2000! With some new additions I expect it will continue growing rapidly. Your #7 rule also reminds me of Parkour. I am a professional Parkour athlete, and the only way I attained my current level and continue to improve beyond it is through that concept of daily improvements. In fact, with the dynamics of the sport I expect it may appeal to you greatly. If you have never heard of Parkour before you can check out my demo tape which I know you will thoroughly enjoy. Keep up the video blogs and the inspiration!

I'm a long time time fan of all kinds of motor racing. That was absolutely the worst broadcast I have ever seen or heard. Hey, Bob, help us out and use your influence next year to hire better voices and production staff. Bill on May 26 2008, 03:34pm Reply
Dear Bill,
At this juncture I have no responsibility or input for the broadcast of the Indy 500. I expect this will also be the case next year.
Bob, my comment is about your ad that aired several times during the Indy 500 telecast, featuring a young girl racing go-carts who wants to be like Danica Patrick. It was stupid, offensive, negative and counterproductive. Why? Because the girl succeeds by BLATANTLY punting her boy rival off the track! The message is: play dirty and you'll win. Why not show the girl driving BETTER than the boy - driving past him on the inside of a turn? Do you and your advertising staff know ANYTHING about motor racing? I drove SCCA for many years, and the sort of driving that your ad shows would have been severely punished. Nobody achieved success or respect by driving that way. Danica is a very good driver, and I'm a big fan. I'm surprised that she didn't walk off the shoot while that commercial was being made, and I'm sure she's embarrassed by it now. Please try to do better. Max Crittenden on May 26 2008, 11:39am Reply
I just had to jump in here, I know you don't need the local Realtor to defend you, but seeing folks whine about the "racy" content AND about the Go-Kart commercial, it seems like you get attacked either way.
My family and I have always been fans of your commercials, but the Kart racing really hit home. I looked over and caught my wife crying after watching it, and it was hard to see because I was too!
I have a 4 year old girl who wants to race, and I'd be proud if she wanted to be like Danica.
As far as the kid being forced off the track, it was especially ironic in light of the lousy driving by a man that cost Ms. Patrick the 500. /too bad they kept her from beating his ass in pit row!
The boy being bumped off the track in the commercial was ruled an accident at least that's what I understand what was revealed by a subsequent investigation using instant replay and examining the commercial footage on a frame by frame basis. So you see it was no harm ... no foul.
Some folks here have called your business acumen into question, which is their right, but not being able to see the level of success you have attained is, well, um, stupid, which is also their right
You know what would rock? A "GodaddyCon" sometime in the month of March in Arizona for all of us who are in the business of web development, and I do mean all! This would give me something further to do while I'm down there for baseball spring training
I love seeing a CEO that calls it for what it is... He proves that just because you grow older doesn't mean you have to grow up. Keep the wheels rollin' Bob!
Ahh, yes. Honesty. You are truly a breath of fresh air from the "suits" we listen to and shake our heads in mock agreement.
After the outcome of the race (yesterday), may I suggest, as a former big deal disc jockey, that someone take Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water", the same beat as the GoDaddy.com jingle, loop it, and mate it to a sequence of Danica stomping down the line, prepared to beat the crap out of Ryan Briscoe. Honest to God, if I hadn't been sitting in front of my 1080p yesterday, I would have held him down so Danica could kick him in the gonads. At my size, at least I could have held off the Briscoe pit crew so Danica could have a good shot at him.
You video is good but has an amateur style editing too it, if I can see it and its that noticeable and your a professional, think about what others are seeing also?
Overall, shave, get better editing and are you or are you not playing the sexism game with the girls.

Why are you and your former MLB husband questioning my business sense? Prices, products, customer service? Or does all of that not matter? In which case, how do you determine who you do business with? Does that put us back to the "cool" vs "tool" thing?
I thought very highly of GoDaddy purchasing about 20 domains in the past month or so. I am not impressed with the video or the association Playboy. Similar to my brother Scott in an earlier post I am not without sin or likely to stumble. Regarding WWJD? Something tells me He would associate with the individual without promoting their trade or profession.
I do hope you reconsider...I don't think its the road you want to go down...God knows I have gone down some bad roads...I just cringe to see such a great service provider stoop so low as to associate with something as base and cheap as Playboy.
I will have problems with promoting the site to others if this is the direction that you plan to go. I hope you change direction. I am very impressed with your company thus far and go to your site daily.

Bob,
Nice Video Blog! What a great way to get your message across, entertain and capture your audience all in one swoop.
You have an awesome model for success and seem to be doing all the right things with GoDaddy. I mean - Danica, Dale Jr.. the videos etc... I'm waiting to see what marketing trick you have up your sleeve next? I've got an idea! How about Go Daddy sponsoring a local Girls U13 Club Soccer Team? As much as a sponsorship will assist our team with travel and lodging fees for out of state tournaments, I think it would be really cool to have Go Daddy as our primary sponsor. Go Daddy "swag" uniforms, practice T's, Soccer Balls, stickers, Regional Tournament Sponsor etc would be awesome! A lot of the teams are sponsored by Nike, Adidias, Gatorade, and many other athletic sporting brand names - However, I would like to be different and make a name for ourselves both on and off the field.
I don't want to be another Nike or Adidias Team - I want our team sponsor to be a recognizable, memorable brand name but also be different from all the Club Teams who carry an atheletic sponsor. This is youth soccer and a great community cause in your own back-yard. These girls will be in high school in two years and off to college in six and may turn out to be great community leaders and future spokespersons for GoDaddy. All in all, I just thinks it's a great idea and an opposite angle of approach from a public relations stand-point.
I have the name of the person I need to speak with at Go Daddy but after being side-tracked with the videos on your site while visiting for a whois lookup and coming across your blog - I thought, "not a better person to ask than yourself".
I will be seeking sponsorships for our 08-09 outdoor travel season and sending out letters in the next 4-6 weeks to a handful of companies and hope Go Daddy seriously considers this a Win-Win opportunity. We may not be Danica, Dale Jr. or the Indy 500, but it's for just as good of a cause, if not better, and will leave a much longer lasting impression and carry your company brand success well into the future.
Might you consider sponsoring our club team, I would be very grateful and look forward to meeting you in person.
Thank your for your time and enjoy your Memorial Day weekend.

Bob - I've always appreciated GoDaddy's business model, but have been bewildered about your branding (the logo is great, but the photos of you & the girls have always struck me as odd, perhaps only appealing to a small crowd, and turning many away because it seems like a late-night info-mercial).
This video is brilliant though! I think you'd do great if you could get more of the wit and light-hearted-ness that the video shows, to come through in your static branding.
Also, from a user interface point of view, some simplification would be great, both in visual appearance and work-flow. I recently read Robert Hoekman's book, "Designing the Obvious" - the book says he worked on your site, but I wonder how long ago, because it seems that a lot of the principles he teaches aren't in use here (at godaddy.com) - you do great with some apple-google-fication, if you know what I mean.
Anyhow, thanks for the low-cost (notice I didn't say "cheap" domain registrations

I was looking into this with Brightcove and when I spoke to the sales agent, he quoted me a few thousand a month and I don't even know if I can get the content right so lost interest.

Hello Bob, do you really read every one of these posts? No, seriously or am a talking to a team member? =) I have a question that I would like answered before I make a decision in becoming a reseller with godaddy.com. I commend you for your success and I think you have a really cool personality, the videos are great.
In everything I do I ask myself will this compromise my integrity as a Christian and my beliefs? While I have failed on numerous occasions I still ask myself that question. For example: I broke the ear on an oil pump that I just bought by cranking on it to hard. It only showed up under pressure. I was tempted to put it in the box and take it back but I am not willing to compromise my integrity over $30 so I just got another one. In that same "this is not so bad" sense I ask myself, will my association with godaddy.com be a compromise in the services I offer to the Christian community or to myself. Don't get me wrong, I am not passing judgment or saying Bob is bad but I would not use Playboy bunnies to sell my Christian websites and domains.
I am sure that I will get flared by the masses over this but to be honest I really am not concerned with the masses, I want to know what Bob thinks.
Bro Scott,
1. It is wise to watch how you walk.
2. It is humble to admit that you stumble.
3. Good for you that your integrity is worth more than $30. Can it be bought for $30,000 or $30,000,000?
4. Concerning your decision to become a GoDaddy reseller, I suggest you ask yourself, "WWJD?" and remember that He loved to laugh and some of his best friends were quite unpopular with the prudes of His time.

Hello and thanks for your wise response!
1. Agreed
2. Thanks, years of denial to get here.
3. To be honest, I really don't know if my integrity could be bought for that much. I would like to tell you no but in all honesty, I don't know. I have said a lot of things and done the other. Not because I am a hypocrite but I am weak while in this bag of bones.
4. Since I read the book where that saying originated from (In his steps) I do ask myself that very question all the time. I have found that the only time I do not is when I don't want the answer.
I agree with you completely, Jesus hung out with prostitutes, drunks and murderers. Even further, almost everyone used in the bible was pretty messed up themselves. I was in no way pointing a finger at Bob or even putting him in category. I think Bob is pretty cool and I like his personality. Nor was I insinuating that Christians should not associate with Go Daddy. I just want to know Bob a little more and test the waters with him a little but that was a little hard considering his short response but I am thankful that he even responded. Kudos Bob! Bob, thanks for your Rule number 7. Perhaps not strangely, I found it moving and inspiring. I've been doing computer forensics and data recovery for almost 25 years, but the past 2 or 3 years have shown me I can't get by on word of mouth alone - too much noise on the Internet, too many hundreds of new competitors - and with two boys in college, increasing expenses. Since the beginning of the year, I've been working on raising my professional profile & my profile on the web...doing a little each day as I can carve out the time. That's why I started blog.computerforensicsblog.com on GoDaddy - your blog tools help a lot. Your comments remind me that keeping plugging - improving some each day - whether with web improvements or in my professional training - is worth it. Sometimes it's hard to tell I'm making a difference. Thank you for the kaizen comment. I'm going to go make another blog entry right now. Dear Bob,
Good luck at the the Indy, we would love to help you with any casting you might have for up and coming GoDaddy girls.
How sweet it would be if your car/driver wins and you GoDaddy is the TV presenter of the the Indy 500. Good luck Bob, you are leaving the competition in the dust or let us say "tire smoke"
The new Blog seems to have lifted the spirits of all you bloggers.
Bob, me and my partner founded our company last May and because of your refreshing approach to business, we registered with Go Daddy and look forward to growing our business along with Go Daddy...BTW, having Danica Patrick as a Go Daddy girl did not hurt in us making our decision. Love the blogs. Duke on May 22 2008, 08:23am Reply

Speaking of "always be moving forward" ... I made the best move of my life last year when I got a job at GoDaddy. I love it here, and not just because of the high visibility and big name ... I love it because I work at a company I can take pride in. Even if we didn't sponsor the Indy 500, we'd still be the best in the industry, offer unheard-of customer support, fantastic products, and the best prices anywhere. I love how we keep moving forward, too!
Hey, I bought Money Counts software from Parsons Technology, back in the day.
Bob, keep on going. Love the blogs & love the rules as well. Am buying 2 more domains soon from Go Daddy.

Truly,

I got four never-before-seen blogs of yours today, dating back to August 13th, 2008. I'm going through them now. Recently, I have been the object of 'tough love', a not-so-welcome reminder that although I may feel differently about it, most people feel I'm worth it. As for seeing Danica get a well deserved Champagne shower, I don't believe I have ever seen her without the word 'cute' firmly attached...

Looking forward to your reply.

Bob
bob parsons on Jun 1 2008, 09:10pm Reply
Perhaps you could answer this. Why is it that NetSol has won the JD Power & Associates Certified Customer Service Call Center award three years in a row and GD has never been considered. I would really appreciate an answer to this question.
Thanks, and best wishes.
Mike on Jun 6 2008, 08:16pm Reply

Thanx,
Chris A. Jacobs

Keep moving forward!

Thanks, Bob.

the issue of parental controls if you feel your child is being threatened or harmed by coming to the business part of Go daddy's site.

TMB3
PestProJoe (http://www.PestProJoe.com) on May 30 2008, 04:28pm Reply
For someone that is so eager to leave you seem to spend an inordinately long time in the blog. You made your point several times and there's no point in your continuing to denigrate yourself in such a "raunchy", "sleazy", "inappropriate", & "dirty" site. By continuing to participate in this discussion "you are guilty by association" (your own comments, not mine). Please don't go away angry... just go away.
While you are gone check out www.beckys-dungeon.com and find out what raunchy, sleazy, inappropriate, & dirty really mean.

As far as the kid being forced off the track, it was especially ironic in light of the lousy driving by a man that cost Ms. Patrick the 500. /too bad they kept her from beating his ass in pit row!

Danica took rules 2, 8, 12 and 13 to heart! She came out of the car at 5 foot 2 inches and just kept getting taller as she walked down pit row. I would have loved to know what the Indy offical said to her! She made my staying up all night to watch Indy from here in Hong Kong worth every minute of lost sleep.

Dewd, I must honestly and openly say I laughed OUT LOUD at the "What we we're saying" and "The REAL reason" video blog. You kicked me in my creative chest with that blast of funny. I think why it resonates is you're not an actor - but you're being so fidiucking genuine it cracks everybody up. I think it's time for you to hit the ON AIR TV spots as well with a campaign. Lee Iaccoca wasn't really funny - it was just some of the situations they put him in. But YOU AND the situation are funny. Also extremely nice touch closing with something to motivate the viewer with "Rules or Success" on a more serious note while keeping it lighthearted. I'm a bigger fan than I was already. I'm proud to be a GoDaddy-er? GoDaddyier? Godaddee-er? Forget it. A Go Daddy customer.

I will keep my eye out for you race day to try to say hi. But I know that is highly unlikely, since you'll be in areas of the track that I won't. I hope you take the time (if you have any) to take your golf cart to the infield between turns 3 and 4, and see how the die hards prep for the greatest motorsport event. I've been doing for almost years. You are a welcome addition to the sport, and I wish you nothing but the best. I look forward to seeing your post race video blog.

Why are you and your former MLB husband questioning my business sense? Prices, products, customer service? Or does all of that not matter? In which case, how do you determine who you do business with? Does that put us back to the "cool" vs "tool" thing?

Anyhow, thanks for the low-cost (notice I didn't say "cheap"

Sincerely,
Scott

1. Agreed
Kudos Bob! If I were a gazillionaire with so much going on like Bob, I doubt that I would have the time.
