Blog Rules
Friday, December 24, 2004
Now that this blog has been up and running for a few months, it has started to attract a wide range of attention and quite a few comments. Most of the comments are just fine. But some are not. These have been removed from those posted.
Someone once said that it's difficult to please all the people. I've found that to be true, certainly here. I know that no matter what one does, no matter how innocuous it happens to be, it will make someone, somewhere, furious. I once heard a boxing announcer say that he's met people who would get violently angry over something as innocent as a tulip. Granted, that's an extreme example, but sometimes it doesn't seem far off.
So I now have rules, and here they are. No comment will be permitted on this Blog that:
1. Uses profanity.
2. Is racist.
3. Is morally offensive or otherwise inappropriate.
4. Contains commentary or questions that are significantly off subject for the Blog entry under which the comment is posted.
5. Makes no sense.
6. Is a blatant advertisement for another business or service.
7. Is inappropriately long. A few short paragraphs are preferred. Anything beyond that can be too much. particularly if it is a rambling rant. I am interested in well articulated comments, not diatribes.
8. Contains threats of any kind.
9. Contains name calling, particularly if I am the subject of the name calling. (*grin*)
10. Does not include a name and valid email address.
To make sure that comments posted comply with these rules, I moderate each one before it is allowed to appear on the Blog. Comments that do not comply with the above rules are simply deleted.
Please know that I very much appreciate your understanding.
